Math Mentor Text Linky Party

Sunday, May 12, 2013 / 4 comments

I am linking up with Collaboration Cuties  to share one of my favorite math mentor texts for when I teach the concept of doubling.
Two of Everything is the cutest story of a little old man and wife who have a magic pot that doubles everything that is put into the gigantic pot. My students' favorite part is when the little old lady falls into the pot by accident and TWO of her come out. Afterwards, my students and I create a doubles anchor chart for addition doubles 0-12. We wrap up our lesson by each child creating their own magic pot. If you are interested in his crafty, you can purchase it at my Teachers Pay Teacher store. Click HERE.

  2. Love the sound of this book! We spend so much time on doubles that this story sounds like a great way to introduce them! Pinning this now so I remember for next year! Thanks so much for sharing!
