Affordable Stylus Pens for Elementary Students and Kids

Stylus pens are a great addition to have when students work on devices. They allow for more controlled drawing and writing while allowing the screen to stay clean and free of smudges. Did you know that not only can you use them on iPads and other mobile devices but you can also use stylus pens on computer/Chromebook trackpads? Click HERE to read a blog post all about it!

When you are working with a class of 20+ students, purchasing a stylus pen for everyone to use can add up FAST. Here is a collection of affordable options for the elementary classroom:

My Favorite

Listen, y'all. I'm a traveling circus show that visits all sorts of classrooms. Therefore, it is very important to me that I have CHEAP stylus pens so that if one breaks, I leave some behind or a child sticks one in his/her pocket "by accident"(insert eye roll here), it isn't that big of deal. I'd go absolutely nuts trying to keep up with really nice stylus pens. Therefore, these are my go to! They work and they are super affordable! Sure, over time the tips will eventually break off but I really try and train the kids to use soft motions to avoid having stylus tips flying all over the classroom. They are perfect for little hands!

Longer Version

What I personally like to use since I won't let myself chalk up $100 for an Apple pencil are these Friendly Swede stylus pens. The older kids (4th and 5ht graders) like them too! They are a longer version of the styluses I mentioned above but seem to be a bit more sturdy. I love the length and how the tip is slightly more pointed for more precision. However, these are more pricey.

Crayon Styluses

For young students who are beginning to draw, color and write, I suggest investing in a few of these chunky crayon like styluses. Their thick grip makes it very easy for students to hold and they are very durable.

Pencil Styluses

These pencil like styluses are great for writing on a screen. They have a long barrel and feel balanced while holding in your hand. Kids LOVE all of the colors too :)

Just for Fun

These "quill"/feather stylus pens are very inexpensive and come in a variety of colors. They are very light weight and work well however, don't plan on them lasting all yearšŸ˜‰Wouldn't they be great to use when studying historical figures, the Declaration of Independence, or Long Ago vs. Today?
