Random little tech tips are my FAVE😄Here is one I learned a few years ago and use all of the time. Someone was looking over my shoulder the other day and was so excited to discover this simple trick. I thought I would pass it along. Many of you Google Gurus probably already know this one👊
This tip will work in Google Docs, Slides and Drawing. To quickly find a definition of a word that is already typed out, simply:
- highlight the word
- go to Tools
- go to Dictionary
A sidebar will automatically pop up containing the definition(s), part of speech and pronunciation. On the slide pictured above that appears in my Halloween Digital Activities resource, I added important vocabulary words about spiders to a chart for students to define before moving onto highlighting a reading passage all about spiders. The only thing students would need to type on this slide are their definitions if they use this little trick! Highlight the word>Tools>Dictionary. Easy and simple!
If students are typing their own paragraph or paper and need to find a definition, they can either go ahead and type on the Doc/Slide/Drawing and use the highlighting trick to find the definition or they can go directly to Tools>Dictionary and type the word in the search bar as pictured on the slide below that appears in my Weathering & Erosion Digital Activities resource.
Give it a try!
