What is Tract?
Tract is a web-based platform with on-demand classes called learning paths that are organized by "Creators" which can include your students! Members can choose the learning paths that interest them the most to learn about a huge variety of topics and take on challenges.
As members complete the challenges they earn coins that can be traded in to recognize other Tract learners as well as make real world donations to support the UN SDGs like planting a tree, protecting the coastline and donating a meal. What an incredible way to help provide students the opportunity to make an impact on their world!
Can Tract Be Used at Home?
Absolutely! Parents can turn passive screen time into engaging learning experiences for any child. I would even encourage teachers to send home student login information so they can continue the challenges from anywhere.
Why Should I Sign Up?
My first experience as a student member was seriously incredible. The ease of logging in and navigating the platform is commendable. I thought about a little boy in 4th grade who I worked with years ago who struggled academically and just never seemed to be interested in learning new things. We always had to dig deep to find content that included his interests: Minecraft, monster trucks and hoverboards. I typed every one of those interests into Tract's search and there was a learning path for each one! My favorite was the learning path all about hoverboards:
I learned SO much. The creator, Samantha Vanegas, did an exceptional job organizing and tying in the use of hoverboards with the benefits and consequences of transportation, travel emissions, sustainability, and electric, solar, wind and magnetic ways to move around. I was engaged from start to finish and truly wanted the learning path to continue. At the end of each mission are challenges for students to take on that will encourage them to continue their leaning. I love this!
Can I Track Student Progress?
Teachers can gain real-time feedback about student progress under the educator dashboard. They can also moderate class submissions and guide students through project awards and feedback.
